“Ashnikko” Vinyl Album Design

My goal was to create a visually-intriguing printed vinyl cover for an album of my choice, along with liner notes. I chose to make a compilation album of Ashnikko’s biggest hits and gravitated towards minimalism in design, but done in a punk-rock fashion. Little to no color appear on the cover/liner notes, but make great fun pops in the physical record I chose, being tie-dye blue. This bright color is there to mimic my chosen artist’s vibrant blue hair color. Inspiration was drawn from fairy-core, apocalyptica, anime, manga, and heavy metal to create these covers. Adobe Illustrator was heavily used to draw the album covers. I then used Photoshop to warp my original illustrations to give them that trippy “apocalyptic” look to them. All type-work for the liner notes was done in InDesign. I love how this design turned out, and adore the minimalistic Mad Max-esque look.
