“The Morning Star” Novel

“The Morning Star” is an illustrated novel I’m currently creating, retelling the Biblical tale of Genesis (the creation story, the fall of man, etc), through the eyes of Lucifer, the fallen angel. My story recounts the interactions between Lucifer and God through the lens of an abusive and dysfunctional father/son relationship.  Lucifer is Latin for “The Morning Star”, or “Bringer of Dawn”, thus the title. My design for the illustrations are highly vectorized, extremely colorful, detailed line-drawings accompanied by large cathedral stained glass windows and bold Gothic typefaces. The layout of my drawings mimic the look of tarot cards. I’ve also enjoyed experimenting more with motion graphics for my digital illustration versions for the book. I’m very excited to share my first personal work with you, as I create!  All drawings were completed in Adobe Illustrator, motion graphics done within Adobe After Effects, and all typography/page formatting done in Adobe InDesign.
